THE DISPATCHES
08/14/2017
You really had to be here today in New York City, to get it. On Sundays, especially when it's sunny and breezy outside, I can hear my own thoughts just a little more clearly. I'm away from the machines, I'll lie on the couch and stare at the clock. The entire city slows down. People unwind, and you can really feel that lightness here because it's such a contrast to how things are on the other days.
I picture eight million people waking up later than usual, many after the first full night's sleep in a long week. They're silently agreeing to not rush anything today. They get their laundry done leisurely, talk to neighbors, hang out in the park. Evening comes and they retire for the night.
I know this weekend has been rough for the country. I know we are all feeling it. But I just wanted to let you know that today was good. Maybe I am writing this because I need to tell myself that.
Ok, this week's piece is a roundabout piece about Discipline...and how you might be getting it all wrong. The piece continues on the website.
That's it from me, I hope you land safely into your Monday, and meet the ground running.
Stay human,
CEDRIC VICTOR
