Frankly, this last week kicked me down the road a few rough blocks. I struggled to stay ahead of my self-given commitments for the week, got pulled apart in a few too many directions and then fell a little behind, That's how it is sometimes, and I've learned not to beat myself up about it when I'm down. Next week is another day :-)
One of the highlights of the last seven days, however, included a talk to a group of women filmmakers. An evening of talking "at" and later talking with some incredible independent filmmakers who are doing really interesting things. Such a wonderfully positive group of ladies.
Ok, I'm not a fan of the summer season, it tends to bring out a certain kind of empty feeling that makes it hard to focus, air conditioning or not. But a good antidote is spending time with friends and laughing a lot, so I encourage everyone to do it at least once a summer.
On to this week's piece. It's about a term we're hearing more and more in design circles, especially among product makers. It's been interesting to watch it develop—still a work in progress, apparently. Read all about (my take on) it below.
