THE DISPATCHES
06/26/2017
I've been getting work done on a few fronts this week. It is a race against time to get a few things finished before the end of the month—the halfway point of the year. In the works are new ideas for paintings, more writing, more design projects. There's also the important corollary: more blocks of time for reading, reflection, and watching paint dry—literally—until it's just right to continue to the next stage of the process.
In this week's piece, I'm picking up some things I wrote down in different "everyday books." Some of them will confirm some of my own frustrations with "artists", and other things are for general usage. All in all, I come back to them more often than I'd like to admit, and in the times that I've taught, my students seem to find good resonance with these ideas.
I hope there's something here you can use. And that your week is off to a good start.
Stay human,
