THE DISPATCHES

Do you that know you’re in your life? Do you realize that you’re responsible for what you do with it?
This isn't a moment of pontification, as much as it is the thing I find myself thinking about some of the people I meet.
As I get older, and more urgent about the fact that I have fewer days in front of me than behind me, it astonishes me how people take their lives for granted. How they postpone pleasure, and even a sense of self-discovery, because now is "not the time" for it...yet.
We cultivate the habit of forgetting the things that might make us less productive, so that we can "stay on top of our game." And then we read the obituary of someone close, or someone close to our age.
So this week's piece has a little more vinegar than usual. It felt good to write, more so than usual. I hope you can dig it.
Be safe and stay human,
